Think about it, a lot of guitarists choose a hassle free guitar without the tremolo due to the tuning issues sometimes associated with it, but these are easily fixed and how can you compare with the sounds they can produce? Quite simply, you can’t.

Here we’ll look at the top 5 techniques you can practice when learning how to play guitar solos using a whammy bar, that when practiced with accuracy and patience will give you an edge over the majority of other players. One little side note before we go through it – A lot of people think that it’s a random thing using the whammy bar because of the drastic variation of sound it can produce, but when practicing it will really help you to gain full control of it so you can use it however you wish when the time arises.

When you’ve heard of those famous records that have made it to the top it is usually because of the talents of the lead guitar player. When the reference is being made to the guitar that’s in lead this is referring to the ability to be able to play specific melodies. Most often these will include a solo or the instrument only being played by the one individual at the time. All ones has to do is look back at the many famous guitar players to see just how popular playing lead guitar can be.

Let’s look at the 5 techniques:

1) Soft Vibrato – Either after or during playing the note hold the bar and gently rock it in a timing that fits with what you’re playing. For the greatest ease hold the bar while playing the note instead of going for it after.

2) Hard Vibrato – The same technique as the first but played with more intensity. This can also be used as a combination with the Dip technique – try playing a chord and using vibrato while slowly depressing the bar at the same time.

3) Dips – A Dip is simply a soft depression of the bar and can be played a number of ways. One way that is very useful is to depress the bar slightly before playing the note and then as you play the note, ease back on the bar to release it to its original position.

4) Dives – Now we’re getting into the fun stuff! Dives are caused by playing the note and immediately after depressing the bar down evenly until you reach the desired note. You can depress it all the way until the strings hang loose for greater effect, and if you want to make a real impact follow it with the next technique.

5) Squeals – After you have completed the dive, tap a natural harmonic on either the 5th, 7th or 12th Frets and raise the bar back to the original position to create a squeal, and add some vibrato at the end to intensify it. If you want to make it even more intense then pull back hard on the bar to raise the pitch of the squeal even more!

Try these out in your next practice session and mix and combine the ideas. The harmonics don’t have to be natural either; if you know artificial harmonics then the squealing can be even more intense!

Whatever musical genre you are into, you will need to learn how to play chords. There are varying degrees of focus on learning chords. In rock, country and blues you can get away with learning a few chord shapes to play the I IV V chord progression in all the keys you need to play in. In classical guitar you learn to read written musical notation by starting with simple pieces of music. There is little or no separate learning of chords. In jazz you learn many different exotic chords in your quest for the ability to express yourself in all keys and modes.

The general idea for anyone starting an online guitar course is that you will be learning to play guitar chords as you progress through your guitar lessons. If you examine guitar theory you will see that learning about scales and the circle of fifths will give you an understanding of how chords are created. You will have the power to understand why chords sound good together and you will be able to make your own chords as and when you need them according to your understanding of music. You can let go of chord charts and make the music you play your own.

For beginners, chord charts are the way they get their introduction to playing music. No sheet music or tabs to learn, just get your head around the idea that chord charts are pictures of the guitar neck, and away you go.

Elmore Music – Guitar Tips from Chris Elmore is one of the oldest online guitar courses that provide very good learning materials for Beginner Level and Intermediate Level guitar players. They have basically 8 guitar learning products. Out of which Guitar Tips is the best selling one which is focussed towards beginners and intermediate level players. Elmore Music also has another package product called Ultimate Speed Learning System which has packaged all the 8 products under a single label. But the advantage is that you can get a whopping discount of around $500. Or you have the option of buying …Read More Here

This is when reality can bite. Making chord shapes can be painful, and learning to make chord changes can be slow and discouraging. This is where repeated practice comes to the rescue like dude on a white horse. Practicing chord changes is the magical element that turns you into a guitar player instead of a guitar fan.

So let’s go online to find the tools to learn chords. The first step in learning guitar chords is to find some free guitar chord charts online. They are not hard to find. Then you will need to get tabs or sheet music for some songs that you enjoy. It is not a good idea to just learn chords without also learning some songs to use the chords in. That is just too boring. The next step is to watch videos on YouTube or a similar site where people have uploaded clips of themselves explaining how to play basic guitar chords.

You will possibly be able to find someone teaching how to play your favorite song.

To learn to play chords you make use of your body’s talent for remembering movements. If you watch somebody in a sandwich shop or some other line of work that involves repeated small movements, you will see that they move very fast, just like a guitar player does. Typing is a good example. You learn the location of the letters, you get a basic understanding of how to hold you hands and arms. And then you type. You type until you do not have to think about where the letters are. Your body knows. This is referred to in guitar playing as “muscle memory”.

If you are learning to play guitar chords without the benefit of a teacher, then the idea of muscle memory is your friend. If you understand that you supply the time, say half an hour to two hours a day, practice time, then your body has the ability to learn how to make fast chord changes all by itself. You just need to give it time.

There is a degree of discomfort in learning guitar chords. Your left hand finger tips will hurt until you develop callouses, your back will complain about long hours of holding the guitar and your fingers are not enthusiastic at all about stretching to make chords and scales. Just remember that no matter what it looks like when you watch a professional guitar player at work, he had to go through what you are going through. And you can come out the other side playing chords, just like he can.

Playing the guitar definitely adds up to your cool quotient. Strumming away confidently, amidst a band, suits you and your image completely. After all, there are others to cover you up, in case you goof up – but a solo piece is a different ball game altogether. Either you know it, or you are exposed to the hilt. In the midst of a band performance, if you are suddenly asked to go solo, you might have the worst nightmare of your life, lest you are capable of handling it. The most important question here is how you learn to play guitar solos fast, real fast.

Try not getting into unnecessary theory, and steer clear of unimportant technicalities. Learn only what is relevant and important, you will get there faster. As soon as you learn some fresh concepts like, bends or riffs or anything else, first give it a few days of practice.

Guitar Tips Snippets

One of the most often overlooked aspects of learning to play the guitar is the concept of learning songs via chord progressions. It’s popular to look up a song on YouTube or go to a TAB site to learn a song however at the end of the day you might know what the guitarist played you will never have a clue as to why theyplayed it.
Some players think that it’s cool to be musically ignorant and prefer not to be bothered with the boring details as to how and why things work and that’s fine… it just means …Read More Here

Then, straight away plunge into a song which is preferably a popular one, and also incorporates these concepts. The moment you play a song you identify with the concepts easily. They don’t seem that difficult any more. Above all, this gives you the confidence to go solo. If you just concentrate on picking up the concepts, and plan to turn to songs at the end of your course, chances are that you might run into lot of confusion and also be low on confidence.

If you are looking to really accelerate your progress, it’s advisable to avoid getting into the intricacies of the music notation or language. A majority of professionals, especially those who play the rock form, are not well versed in this. You might learn the “TAB” instead, as this is specifically meant for guitar. It’s also much easier to learn as it uses fret numbers.

The simplest way to bail you out of this situation is to make a simple melody yourself, using a maximum of three to four notes. Play this along with some songs, till you get the rhythm right. An easy piece might not be unique but your success in this will definitely help in killing your fear to play guitar solos.

The Need to Learn Guitar Chords

You must be able to learn guitar chords to be able to play songs. You cannot play an entire song on a single string; you must know chords for that. Single string play is what kids who have no idea about playing guitar do, not someone who knows how to play the guitar.

In this article, we will discuss what guitar chords are. We will also discuss some of the problems you may face as a beginner when you learn guitar chords, and how to overcome these problems.

What You Must Know Before You Learn Guitar Chords

As a beginner, you must be wondering how difficult it would probably be to learn guitar chords. You also must be having numerous questions running in your mind. ‘Where do I start?’ is a very common question. The answer is obvious: start at the beginning; learn what a guitar chord is.

The dictionary states that a chord is the sound that emanates from a musical instrument when you hit a minimum of three pitches simultaneously. For someone who is learning the guitar, what this means is you need to hit the strings together with the fingers of the strumming hand, while holding down the strings at specific positions on the fretboard with the fingers of the other hand, to produce the required sound.

A guitar loop pedal is a fun and versatile tool that allows guitar players to explore new musical dimensions. In this article we’ll learn what a loop pedal is and see how it can be used as a guitar practice and performance tool.
What is a Guitar Loop Pedal?
A guitar loop pedal records short passages played on an instrument and plays them back in a repeating loop. Loops can be mixed together to create complex rhythms and harmonies from layers of simpler parts. Usually the pedal is used to create a backing that you play along with.

There are a number of guitar chords – simple and complex. When you start to learn guitar, you learn the easier chords first. These chords are called simple guitar chords, or beginners’ guitar chords. The easiest chords to learn are G Major, C Major, and D Major. Once you learn these chords, you can go on to work on the more complex ones.

Problems You Will Face When You Learn Guitar Chords

When you learn guitar chords, you have to be able to hold down the different strings of the guitar across strategic locations on the fretboard.

Each chord has a specific positioning of specific fingers. This gives rise to three basic problems:

- Acute pain in the fingers arising from holding down strings with fingers stretched.

- Pain, numbness, and sometimes even blistering of the soft skin on the fingers.

- Inability to switch chords rapidly.

The problems mentioned above are universal to everyone when they practice chords for the first time. As with all problems, these too have solutions.

The acute pain in the fingers arises primarily because they are not used to being stretched thus. A good way of overcoming this problem is to do a set of finger exercises before you practice each day. Practice stretching your fingers over the frets, playing single strings as you do this. This exercise stretches your fingers, while also enabling you to increase the speed with which you move the fingers across the frets.

The numbness and blistering of the soft skin is because of the skin rubbing against the sharp-edged strings for long periods of time. You can counter this by rubbing methyl alcohol over the skin of the fingers prior to practice.

The stiffness of the fingers and inability to change chords rapidly is because you have never done something like this ever before. Learn the proper finger positions for the different chords. Once you are familiar with this, practice changing chords. Your speed will increase with practice, and the stiffness will disappear.

If you want to learn how to play, you're not alone. Millions of other people want to rock out with an electric guitar too. In order to play your favorite songs, however, you need to start from the beginning and work your way up.

There’s no sound in this world quite so distinct as that of an electric guitar.

Sure, the acoustic guitar has its own unique sound and is fun to play, but nothing can ever compare to playing electric guitar.

If you’re starting lessons later in life, don’t worry: you’re never too young to play the electric guitar!

Learning to play is probably easier than you think. Still, you need to be dedicated, committed, and motivated to the electric guitar. If you’re not fired up and motivated every single day, you will never learn to play more than a simple song or two.

You must make a big commitment to this amazing instrument. You need to set up daily goals and weekly plans, and you must meet them. If you’re willing to do as such, you will truly learn how to play an electric guitar.

Follow these four steps:

1. Get yourself an electric guitar.

2. Find a quiet place to practice.

3. Find a good home study course or a private teacher.

The first two steps are pretty obvious. You’re going to need an electric guitar and a place in which you can play it. This place can even be your own bedroom. The third step is to locate a private electric guitar teacher or a home study course. What’s the fourth step?

The fourth step should be obvious: PRACTICE!

So, what’s the best option for guitar lessons for you?

Now, there’s a wide array of options for learning electric guitar, ranging from private lessons to print books and from DVD’s to e-books.

Guitar Tips Snippets

Tuning an electric guitar presents an whole new set of problems that you don’t encounter with acoustic guitars particularly if your electric guitar has a tremolo arm fitted.
Before we get right into the specific methods of tuning we need to run through our intonation checklist to be certain we can get our electric guitar performing at an optimum performance level.
Intonation checklist
New strings: It’s pointless spending time trying to tune your guitar if your strings are old or worn; how often you should change your strings will depend on:
(a) the chemical makeup of your perspiration;
(b) whether …Read More Here

There are also software games that will teach you how to play! Some are top-notch resources while others are a waste of money. You need to be very careful when choosing.

Many new electric guitarists put their trust in a private instructor. There’s nothing wrong with that; the majority of private instructors work at music shops and are obviously talented musicians who can play the guitar really well. It’s tough to beat that kind of resource because they will sit down next to you and help you work on one-on-one skills.

The major drawbacks, however, are that private instructors charge a lot of money, and the lessons themselves are huge time commitments. You can expect a few half hour lessons every week along with “homework”. As for price, you will be paying AT LEAST $15-$16 per thirty minute electric guitar lesson!

If you’ve the money and time, then by all means, take this route!

However, you need to understand that this isn’t your only option.

It’s not the end of the world if you don’t learn anything from a private instructor. Some of the best guitarists in the world learned by themselves!

Bookstores and the internet will provide just as much—if not more—information on how to play as a private instructor would. Many of these resources provide:

- An overview of the electric guitar and its features

- Lessons on playing

- Instruction on tuning

- Guitar tabs for a variety of songs

- Advanced tricks and techniques

Learn & Master Guitar is by far one of the most popular choices. It’s a course that provides a CD/DVD/book set with all the info you’ll need for playing electric guitar. This course is also cheaper than lessons with a private instructor.

Once you get your electric guitar, practice space, and lesson plan, you will then be able to truly learn how to play!

Each instructor or lesson will teach you in a different way. All you have to do is follow their guidelines and practice every day. There are a few things that all resources will teach you, however, including:

- How to strum evenly

- Resting your left thumb on the bottom part of the neck, not the top.

- Working on rhythm and gaining familiarity with the way each string sounds

- Keeping the finger close—but not on—the fret bar.

- Pressing down hard on the string when playing a chord or note.

Practicing and playing is actually easier than you may think. Just make sure you’re truly committed and dedicated to your electric guitar lessons for beginners. You need some sort of formal training in order to lay a solid foundation.

Be sure to check out Learn and Master Guitar. It truly teaches more than most other courses and lessons, and it’s also very affordable!

A lot of people can pick up any old guitar and bang out a tune, and a lot of those can also play a few flashy notes here and there, otherwise known as a solo, but is that what you really want to be known for?

If you want to learn how to play guitar solos like the pros do, there are a few things you need to focus on in your practice sessions, and once these have been mastered everything you do from here will sound professional. Surely that’s better than just being able to play a couple of things here and there!

There is one element that covers everything you will learn on the guitar, and this you need to master or you will fail with every song you attempt, and that is Control.

Control simply means being in charge of the notes you choose rather than the guitar telling you what you can and can’t play which funny enough is how a lot of musicians play. The three areas of control with your playing are:

Playing the note cleanly – When you learn how to play guitar solos it’s important to break it down into small sections at a time so you can practice individual patterns.

Guitar Tips Snippets

If you’re one of the many guitarists who dreams of being able to play awesome guitar solos, read on for some simple tips on how to improve your lead guitar playing today.
1. Practice Your Scales
Yes, you’ve probably heard that before, but there’s no getting away from the fact that scales form the foundation of solo guitar playing. Scales help you develop your theoretical knowledge at the same time as helping you to memorise the fretboard (a vital skill) and training your fingers to move across it with speed and agility. If you don’t already practice scales regularly, start …Read More Here

When you practice these patterns, because they consist of only a few notes each you have a greater chance of controlling each single note and playing it cleanly. Do this with a metronome and then increase the speed to normal speed and you’ll have a series of clean patterns that you can play together to make one crazy guitar solo!

Staying on your chosen note – This may sound odd to some, but because the strings are easy to bend it means you can go off note fairly easily.

Guitar Lessons On Video

If you choose to go off note by sliding, bending or just simple vibrato, then practice doing so smoothly and landing on the desired note at the end. The key once again is control of the individual note and knowing and practicing how it should sound as an end result.

Controlling the Intensity – As well as being able to play cleanly and stay on note, a good solo comes from the feel that the player puts into it, and this comes from controlled intensity. Practice the level of attack when you hit the note, the timing, and the mood you want to achieve to match the overall song as a whole. Accents also fall under this bracket as well, and need to be thought of to bring light and shade to the mix.

When learning how to play guitar solos it’s vital to practice as a professional would, otherwise you may pick up bad habits, and you know what practiced bad habits become – annoying!

One question to think about – Do professional guitarists become so after they get noticed, or do they get noticed because they practice professionally to start with? All the best with your practice, and make every note count!

The proper finger placement can feel very uncomfortable at first. Still, you must learn the correct posture and stick with it. Never attempt to learn complicated chords before you're able to play all the basic chords as well as switch from one to another with ease. Seek out a reliable training source to confirm that you're playing them the right way. Practice the guitar for a half hour each day, no more. Commit yourself to learning all the basic chords and you'll be able to play tons of songs.

When I first learned to play the guitar I found that the chords were the toughest things to master. What about you?

Most definitely learning guitar chords are extremely difficult. This may be because you must use multiple fingers and strum multiple strings simultaneously. The combinations and finger placements seemed rather absurd at first.

Seriously, because I had large hands, I thought I’d never be able to warp and play those chords. After I learned them I realized I’ve made a big mistake, two perhaps. Assuming my trouble of playing guitar chords was attributed to my large fingers and hands plus getting frustrated by this. Now I know that it all had to do with the placement of my fingers rather than the size of my hands. Hence, the placement of the chord-playing hand (for me, my left hand) is very important.

So if guitar chords learning is giving you trouble, check the placement of your left thumb while playing the guitar. Where is it at? Your left thumb should be sitting on the lower portion of the back of the neck behind the second finger. NEVER place this thumb on the upper part of the neck, this is incorrect. You may find the correct positioning of the fingers feels extremely uncomfortable at first. Although this seems like a comfort issue at first, this is the appropriate technique for most guitar styles. This will differ for each person depending on the length of their fingers, the flexibility of their hands, etc.

It’s important that you don’t forget this posture. So you may play a few notes or songs then give into the temptation of returning to the old habit.

If you dream of strumming your favorite country songs at your next get together with friends and family but feel it is too difficult, do not give up. Following are some tips to learn country guitar that can have you playing like the pros in no time.
If you are not taking conventional lessons to learn country guitar, you are not alone. Lessons can be costly, and for a beginner perhaps not necessary until you find a real feel for the instrument.
Any instrument is difficult at first, and it is easy to become discouraged before you have given it …Read More Here

That only invites more bad habits. Practicing good habits is absolutely important if you want to master and learn guitar.

Learning guitar chords can be strongly prohibited due to lack of knowledge or support. Trying to learn a 5-string chord before you know the basic chords poses 2 big mistakes:

1. Trying to learn a 5-string chord before you know all the 2 or 3 string chords is like “going off the deep end”. At first, concentrate on all the basic chords. Once you’ve learned them and playing them becomes second-nature then you can move onto more complex chords and formations.

2. Using improper finger placement will only make playing guitar chords more difficult. Until I saw the video on the Learn and Master.com site, little did I know that for months before that I was trying to play guitar chords all wrong. I found that using the correct finger placement made playing the chords so much easier than how I tried to do it. It’s the little things that make the difference.

So, before you even try playing guitar chords it’s important that you learn the correct method.

This is not likely to happen unless you have some training from an instructor or other reliable resource. Note that guitar lessons are rather “spendy”. On average, they run $16 for a 30-minute session. Learn and Master Guitar is a great resource that offers guitar chord lessons along with techniques and tricks typically taught by a private instructor. You’ll save a lot of money learning from this site.

It doesn’t matter what form of guitar lessons you take, as long as they’re rock solid. If you prefer to take lesson from a personal instructor despite the higher cost, that’s your decision. If you feel online lessons are not the best way to learn guitar, that’s fine. Just find a lesson you’re comfortable with, learn from it, and practice!

As for practicing on the guitar, half an hour per day is adequate. You may disagree with me and feel that’s not enough time and dedication, but I’ve known some novices who’ve attempted to play more than 30 minutes a day. They just became bored and some of them picked up bad habits.

Simply set aside a 30-minute session each day. Pick a time of day where you’re least likely to be disturbed. Find a quiet room free from background noises and other distractions if possible. Do this during a time of day when you have a lot of energy.

Becoming proficient at playing chords requires as much patience and dedication as it does knowledge and skill. To earn these things you must devote 15 minutes of this time exclusively to learning guitar chords. Begin with practicing the simple and basic chords. In a couple weeks I promise that you’ll play these chords like a pro as well as switching from one to the other without any problem.

All you must do is commit yourself to learning guitar chords. Don’t forget, chords are the fundamental building blocks that every song is made of. Once you master the basic chords you’ll be able to play thousands of popular tunes. But you must start by learning chords, OK? You can do it…I know you can. I just wished I would have learned to play the guitar that way.

One last thing:

Lessons + Practice = You’ll be an awesome guitarist!

If there is one thing that never fails to capture the imagination of a crowd at a performance, it’s the solos and the lead sections of any band. A Solo done well can often redeem the duller parts and then some. Solo guitar is therefore very sought after form of playing for people new to the guitar. To learn to play guitar solo is a straightforward, yet demanding process.

For starters, a musician needs to be well versed in the various facets of music. The best place to start in this regard is of course familiarizing oneself with scales and notations. Once you get to know your way about the fret board reasonably well, it gets easier to play anything and everything.

Scales have the added advantage of being an easy way to learn the various interrelations and progressions of notes.

If you are interested in playing the bass, rest assured it is a relatively straightforward and simple instrument to learn. Fundamentally, you simply need to play your music from the heart, allowing your listeners to enjoy the melody you create.
Following are a few core tips to help beginners get started:
In the Beginning
First, you will want to make a decision concerning the type of sound you hope to express with your bass. Will you play smooth bass or something more rhythmic, wild sounding? The sound you generate will depend largely on the rhythm you use.

In this manner, you will be able to understand which notes go well with each other, in addition to building muscle memory which serves to help you to develop your technique, making solo playing effortless and fluid.

When you learn to play guitar solo, you will soon discover that the difference between a good guitarist and a bad one is the feel or emotive quality of their playing.

One very common mistake that beginners make is to cram in too many notes into their solos. A solo saturated with notes is not necessarily a good one. It is to be remembered that it is the right notes, not how many notes that is going to make the difference.

With solo guitar, after a point, dedication is essential. It doesn’t matter if you spend 10 minutes a day, as long as you do it regularly. There are many resources available on the web to help you along. Many websites like learnguitarsolo.com, myguitarsolo.com etc have comprehensive resources for the aspiring solo guitarist. In addition, a Google search will also come up with additional material. Metacafe and YouTube also have videos that serve to instruct as well as inspire. So, as you get deeper into it you will come across various resources to help you in your quest for soloing.

When you learn guitar chords for beginners will find that they not as hard as you may have thought. A lot of people tend to think that learning to play the guitar is hard or harder than say learning to play the piano or learning to play some other instrument. This is not true. It’s all about patterns and movable shapes. One of the primary aspects of any complete guitar course is to learn guitar chords for beginners. There are simple chords and there are very complex chords. Most of the online sites will teach you things such as beginner guitar chords, barre chords (also known as bar chords), have a chord chart, power chords, and teach chord progression.

The key to for you to remember when you’re trying to learn guitar basics is that some chords are are movable shapes. This means that once you learn to play one of those chords, you’ll be able to move it up and down the fretboard surface and automatically play other chords. This is especially true when learning to play a barre chord. Most players have a little trouble learning the barre chords at first, because it requires that you press more than one string down at a time with only one finger, but with practice, you’ll get the hang of it rather quickly.

Are you looking for an acoustic guitar? Are you on a limited budget, but still want to get yourself a nice, good quality guitar? With a little Patience and a little effort, you can get yourself a real deal!
First of all, be patient
It may take some time. You make have to look in a few places and visit those places again, in order to find your deal. But if it’s a deal you want, then it’s well worth it.
How much do you want to spend?

The cool thing about beginner guitar chords and barre chords is that these can be used in almost every key that you start to play in. They are also cool when you’re wanting to improvise on certain songs. You simply stay within that key (remember which scale it is in) and then just use your barre chords. As you’re going to learn guitar chords, you’ll find that a lot of popular songs will have G major, A minor, B minor, C major, D major, E minor, or F sharp diminished chords. These are some of the best beginners guitar chords to start off learning how to play, because these are some of the most common ones found in songs

As you’re going through the beginner guitar chords online here, you’ll find that it’s easier than ever to learn. The key to getting proficient is with practice. At first you may find that while you’re practicing your beginner guitar chords that your fingers may slip or that your hand may get tired fast.

That’s ok. As you practice more and more, you’ll find that your fingers and hands get stronger and that they will start to do what you want them to do. With practice, your technique will become easier and easier.

You need to realize that as you’re learning to play beginner guitar chords that at the beginning your fingers may get tired fast and develop callouses. This is perfectly normal. You’ll develop more and more calluses as you practice. But if you’re experiencing strong pain, then take a break and stop. Let your fingers, hand and wrist rest. As you play your beginner guitar chords, there are tiny tendons and muscles inside your hand that are not used to working this hard and need to develop.

One of the easier chord types to learn are power chords. These are usually two strings pressed together. Once you’ve learned how to do this, you’ll find that the “regular” chords or beginner guitar chords are just a variation of power chords with added tones at the end. These can also be thought of as movable shapes, as you will find that many other chords are going to involve the same finger position but on a different location on the fretboard

Many beginning guitarists are anxious to start playing some cool songs, and really don’t want to spend an eternity learning dry music theory or boring exercises. We’ve designed things so that it is easy to learn guitar chords and learn guitar basics in as little as 2 to 3 months. Once you learn guitar scales and chords, you may find that you’ll want to take your guitar playing up a step to jamming with friends or playing in a band. And that’s what it’s all about.

To become well-known and popular, some people take to playing the guitar. The guitar is not so straight-laced and classy, but rather flashy and eccentric. Many beginners have the incentive to impress people. Before one can do that, he’ll need to learn to play a guitar solo in a variety of styles, especially his favorite style.

When considering what makes an average band so popular, most usually associate it with the lead singer. That seems to be the one that makes the most direct contact with the audience and hence, the most prominent among all band members. Those who play the instruments do not stand out so much.

Still, the guitarists take a significant presence that rivals the singers. Ladies like guitarists simply because the guitar is “hot”. For guys, a guitarist is liked usually because they love listening to solo guitar. One can’t deny that all guys have fantasies about busting out on stage and doing a five-minute solo. For any man, this is his finest moment in life. It’s true that it’s practically encrypted into a male’s DNA. Still, the remaining members play along in the background of the remarkable, creative performance of the guitarist.

If you have a strong desire to learn how to play guitar solo let me put this to you plain and simple.

A guitar solo is like a free style way of playing and thus lacks techniques. Therefore, this is not something I can teach you. The guitar solo resembles “improv” jazz and blues more than any other type of music.

Despite its lack of technique, there is still a lot of preparation necessary to learning how to play a guitar solo. To begin with, your overall guitar playing skills should be equal to that of an advanced or expert level. Unfortunately, this leaves out beginners. Simply solo are much too challenging and can’t be learned in two weeks. Although they may not look so hard, they can’t be played without complex bends, “hammer-ons”, “pull-offs”, or other advanced techniques. Though some of these techniques can be picked up quickly, I still recommend that you learn to play guitar chords and proper strumming techniques first.

Doing this will make the advanced techniques even easier. If you still want to know more about playing guitar solo, you’re free to inquire about “hammer-ons” and “pull-offs”.

To play a guitar solo, a guitarist will use numerous high-end strings, many of which are located on the lower third of the guitar neck. Beginners are accustomed to playing on the top third section of the neck since that is where all the basic chords and power chords are played from. As for solo guitar, they’ll concentrate on the lower third section.

Personally, I love playing on the lower third section of the neck, but keep in mind that sometimes it can be more difficult. This is because the frets in this section are closer together than those at the top. Those will long or thick fingers are more prone to accidentally bumping into the fret.

Playing guitar solo will absolutely pose as a speed test to your fingers. Only expert strummers who can shift through the strings on the guitar neck easily should seriously consider attempting to play a guitar solo. Masters of guitar solo have an ability to change from a slow, melodic solo to a fast and frantic pace. Apparently, the fast and frantic sections are the more difficult to learn so make sure you can keep up before considering to play.

Still, if you’re like me, you’ll want to learn how to play guitar solo too. Isn’t that the reason you picked up the guitar in the first place? Keep in mind that guitar solo take time to learn and are not advised for beginners, unless they’re extremely simple. Learning them can help you expand your horizons. Therefore, you’ll need to learn more scales, become familiar with one or two keys, then learn a few solo you like to get started on.
