After you learn the individual pieces enough to play them without thinking much about what you’re doing, then you can start putting them together. Start by playing slowly and go faster as you get better (but be sure to always maintain the rhythm).

Learn basic chord and note progressions (riffs). Each riff can have multiple variations. Practice how to go from one riff to another.
